Nicholas Strieker sentenced to 5 1/2 years in prison

A Quincy man, arrested during an investigation into at least two February 2022 incidents where shots were fired in Quincy, has changed his Not Guilty plea and is going to prison.

Nicholas Strieker was in Adams County Circuit Court Friday afternoon, where he leaded Guilty to counts of drug possession and a felon in possession of a weapon. The pleas were part of a settlement, in which prosecutors dropped one count of Burglary. After the plea, Strieker was sentenced to 5 and a half years in prison. Strieker was arrested last February 24th, after an investigation of a burglary to a Marcelline business in September, 2021. That burglary, where cash was taken, caused extensive damage to the business. The weapon count was from November 2021.

Police said that Strieker's arrest wasn't connected to the February shots fired incidents.
