Colton Parsons changed Not Guilty pleas to drug, weapon charges from September incident.

A Quincy man, arrested in early September in a local motel on drug dealing and weapons charges, has changed his Not Guilty plea and is going to prison.

Colton Parsons was in Adams County Circuit Court Tuesday, where he pleaded Guilty to a Class X count of Meth Delivery over 15 grams and one count of a felon in possession of a weapon. The plea was part of a settlement with prosecutors, who dropped a Class X count of Armed Violence. After the plea, Parsons was sentenced to 10 years in prison. Parsons was arrested September 2nd on a warrant at the Quincy Inn and Suites on North 36th Street. Quincy police said that Parsons ran from them while carrying a pistol, and was arrested by a second group of officers in a stairwell, after a brief struggle.

No one was hurt in the arrest.
