Jeremy McSparren pleaded Guilty to two Criminal Sexual Assault counts against a child
A Quincy man who admitted he sexually abused a child will serve a long prison sentence.
Jeremy McSparren was in Adams County Circuit Court Thursday, where he was sentenced to 24 years in prison. He pleaded Guilty in early December to two counts of Criminal Sexual Assault of a family member under 18. As part of the settlement, three counts of Aggravated Criminal Sexual Abuse were dropped. McSparren admitted he committed the crimes in August 2022. Quincy Police said their investigation started in early May 2023, when a child told them about an incident that happened the previous August.
A report says that the child was later interviewed at the Child Advocacy Center in Quincy and told about additional abuse.
