41-year old Rebecca Bliefnick found in home on Kentucky Road with multiple gunshot wounds

Quincy police are continuing to investigate the death of a Quincy woman, and now consider it to be a murder.

Quincy Police Chief Adam Yates said Friday morning that the department is now investigating the incident that happened just after 3:30 Thursday afternoon in the 2500 block of Kentucky Road as a homicide. The Adams County Coroner's Office has identified the victim as 41-year old Rebecca Bliefnick. Chief Yates says she was found dead inside the home with multiple gunshot wounds. He says in a statement that QPD detectives, along with the police department’s crime scene technician were at the home until late Thursday night processing the crime scene, collecting evidence and interviewing witnesses. Chief Yates says that it's still early in the investigation, and that detectives are continuing to look for more witnesses and evidence. He adds that right now, they've not ruled out anyone as a possible suspect.

Chief Yates says that if anyone has information about the case, they should call the Quincy Police Department at (217) 228-4470 or submit a tip though the Quincy Regional Crimestoppers online portal, through the app, or by calling (217) 228-4474.
