Quincy Salvation Army sets fund-raising record

2022 Christmas Campaign raised over $507,000

The Quincy area command of the Salvation Army says its' Christmas fund-raising efforts set a record.

The Salvation Army of Quincy Christmas Campaign Chairs, Josh and Tieraney Craig, announced Tuesday that the 2022 Christmas Campaign raised over $507,000. The campaign goal was $435,000. The Salvation Army says that the Tree of Lights Christmas Campaign is their major fundraising effort of the year. Money raised during the campaign helps provide Christmas help and funding programs and services that help people and families in Adams, Brown, and Pike Counties each day.

The Salvation Army says that this past holiday season in Quincy, they handed out 732 food baskets. The Angel Tree program helped 189 families, representing 634 people received over 2,300 pieces of clothing, nearly 2,000 toys, over 1,500 gifts like personal care items, home goods, and gift cards. The Salvation Army also served 350 meals on Thanksgiving, and 85 meals were served on Christmas Day.
