Karen Blackledge will have to serve 85% of her sentence

A Quincy woman, indicted on charges after a November incident where a victim was kidnapped and her home broken into, will spend decades in prison.

Karen Blackledge was in Adams County Circuit Court Thursday, where she was sentenced to 40 years in prison. Blackledge will have to serve 85 per cent of that sentence. She pleaded Guilty to Class X counts of Home Invasion and Aggravated Criminal Sexual Assault with a weapon. The plea was part of a settlement with prosecutors. In return, they dropped counts of Home Invasion, aggravated Kidnapping, Aggravated Vehicular Hijacking and Residential Burglary. Earlier this week, Blackledge's motion saying she had ineffective counsel was dismissed. A co-defendant, Bradley Yohn, faces similar counts. He was also indicted on four counts from a mid-October incident. The pair were accused of kidnapping a woman in her car on November 9th, then forcing her to go back to her home on North Bottom Road. The home was robbed and the victim was also attacked. The pair were arrested the next day in Springfield, Illinois by U.S. Marshals.

Yohn is due in court next week. He's in the Adams County Jail on nearly 16 million dollars' bond.
