Event bringing leaders from three states to Quincy
The annual Tri-State Development Summit got under way Wednesday in Quincy.
Civic leaders from West-Central Illinois, Northeast Missouri and Southeast Iowa are all gathering at the Oakley-Lindsay Center for the two-day summit, organized through Culver-Stockton College. The summit got underway Wednesday afternoon with an introductory workshop for economic development for community leaders. C-SC says that the workshop provides community members with the knowledge needed to help identify and help with economic development priorities in their communities. The summit continues Thursday morning with a breakfast at 8 AM, and opening remarks at 8:30 AM by Summit Executive Director Leslie Sieck, Culver-Stockton College President Dr. Lauren Schellenberger and Quincy Mayor Mike Troup. Lou Zacharilla, founder of the Intelligent Community Forum, will deliver the keynote address.
The program also includes a number of breakout sessions and presentations. They'll cover topics such as the childcare and housing shortages in the Tri-States and regional transportation projects.
