Quincy man convicted of murdering two-month-old child he was watching in 2018.
A Quincy man, found Guilty of murdering his then-girlfriend's two-month old baby in early 2018, has received a long prison sentence.
Travis Wiley was in Adams County Circuit Court Friday, where he was sentenced to 35 years in prison. He'll get credit for some five years he served before the trial, and could have received up to 60 years in prison under state sentencing guidelines. Wiley was found Guilty in mid-November on one count of First Degree Murder, after an Adams County Jury deliberated for 5 hours. Wiley was convicted in the death of Airyana Hoffman. The jury found that Wiley shook baby Airyana while watching her on January 20th, 2018. The five-day trial included testimony from 3 doctors who either conducted an autopsy on Airyana, or who were consulted on the autopsy. All three said that the child died of abusive head trauma.
Airyana died two days after the crime in a St. Louis hospital.
