2nd COVID-19 case in Pike County, MO confirmed

Stay-at-home order to go into effect at 12M through April 30

A Northeast Missouri county is reporting its' second case of COVID-19, and has issued a county-wide stay-at-home order.

The Pike County Health Department made that announcement Friday, saying that the case is still under investigation. A statement says tha the patient is currently in home isolation, following the guidance of the CDC. They add that no other information about the patient will be provided. The Health Department says they're working with local health-care providers and the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services to monitor the patient and identify any close contacts. They'll be contacted individually. The Health Department says that the stay-at-home order goes into effect at Midnight Saturday, through 11:59 P.M. April 30th. They say that the order was issued due the new case, and the increase of cases in neighboring counties and Missouri.

The Health Department adds that once the order is in place, only essential businesses can stay open, and that all non-essential businesses will have to close while the order is in effect.
