Accident happened on US 54
All 3 drivers were hurt in a crash on U S Highway 54 - 3 miles North of Pittsfield.
Illinois State Police say a car driven by 40 year old Roger L. Daniels of Manshester, Illinois hit the rear of an SUV driven by 73 year old Richard W. Teaney of Pittsfield causing Teaney to spin out of control.
Teaney's jeep then crashed into the front of an oncoming SUV driven by 54 year old Jerry W. Orr of Perry. Teaney and Orr were flown to Saint Johns Hosptial in Springfield for treatment of Moderate injuries. Daniels was taken to Illini Community Hospital in Pittsfield and later Blessing Hospital in Quincy.
Daniels was charged with Failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident - improper lane usage and Operating an Uninsured Motor Vehicle. Further charges are possible pending investigation. Teaney was ticketed for operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
