Health Department says a man in his 20's is recovering in Blessing Hospital

Adams County has its' third case of COVID-19, according to the Health Department.

They announced Friday afternoon that a third person, a man in his 20's, tested positive for the virus. He's currently recovering in Blessing Hospital, and public health officials say this case of the virus was spread through community contact. They've started a contact investigation to find out who the man came in contact with prior to the diagnosis. The Health Department says it will notify close contacts as they are identified through the investigation. Blessing Hospital has been following CDC guidelines and protocols to take the proper precautions including PPE to care for all suspected COVID patients. The Health Department says it's important to follow simple daily steps to stop the spread of illness. That includes washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. The Health Department says that so far, 90 people have tested negative for the virus, and 114 test results are still pending.

Adams County residents with questions or concerns are encouraged to visit the Health Department's Facebook page, or call the COVID-19 Hotline at (217) 277-3504.
