Adams County has seen the biggest one-day increase in COVID-19 infections since January.

The Illinois Department of Public Health said Tuesday that 52 new cases of COVID-19 were confirmed Monday. Two more employees of the Illinois Veterans Home are among the new cases. Home Administrator Troy Culbertson made that announcement Monday in a letter to residents and their families. Eight employees have active cases of the virus. Overall, 328 residents and staff have tested positive, and 29 residents have died of the virus. The rate of infection among residents has decreased since they were vaccinated in late December.
