The annual First Bankers Trust Ag Banquet is set for Tuesday March 12. As usual - the banquet will include presentation of the Quincy Area Chamber of Commerce Agri-Business of the year and the Larry Fischer Ag Educator of the year.
The Agri-business award will be presented this year to Doyle Equipment Manufacturing - Riverview Manufacturing.
Doyle Equipment Manufacturing produces quality dry fertilizer blending, conveying, tending, and spreading equipment at its factory in Palmyra. The four generation family owned company was started in 1951. Riverview produces most of Doyle's pull type spreaders, and tenders.
Retired Payson-Seymour Agriculture teacher Barry Eidson will receive the Ag educator award.
Eidson taught both traditional and non-traditional Ag students for 33 years and saw his student earn dozens of awards and honors over those years.
The Herald Whig Farm Family of the Year will aslo be recognized.
