Darlene Elles to be sentenced February 1

One of two Northeast Missourians, charged with meth trafficking after their arrest in Quincy in May, has pleaded Guilty in a settlement with prosecutors.

Darlene Elles of rural Audrain County pleaded Guilty Friday in Adams County Circuit Court to one count of Meth Delivery of 100 to 400 grams. That is a Class X felony, with a 6 - 30 year prison sentence. As part of the settlement, prosecutors dropped charges of Meth Trafficking and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. A co-defendant, Anthony Hutton also faces those charges, and will go on trial in January. Prosecutors say the pair were arrested after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 900 block of Jefferson. Both Elles and Hutton allegedly had over 50 grams of meth ICE and numerous Oxycodone pills. Both are in the Adams County Jail – Elles is being held without bond, and Hutton on $100,000 bond.

Elles will be sentenced February 1st.
