Will work to expand services in rural areas
Blessing Health System and the Hannibal Clinic say they've signed an affiliation agreement.
The agreement was announced Wednesday in Hannibal. In a statement, Blessing officials say the agreement will allow both to work more closely together to improve access to quality healthcare and to lower healthcare costs. Leaders of both organizations say they plan to expand clinic services in rural areas of Northeast Missouri, and bring more healthcare providers to the area, especially doctors who are specialists in their fields. Dr. Erik Meidl, President and CEO of Hannibal Clinic says that the Clinic's patients quote, "will have regional access to even more advanced specialty care."
No ownership change is involved in the agreement.
