Modified lock-down now lifted

UPDATE: As of 12:48 PM Monday, Blessing Hospital says that the modified lock-down has been lifted.

Quincy police now say that a bomb threat made against Blessing Hospital was a false alarm.

The threat was revealed late Monday morning by Blessing officials, who instituted a total lock-down of all facilities. Blessing says that as of Noon, it will continue a modified lock-down until all departments are declared clear after a search. Blessing says that the public is asked to observe the lock-down and not enter, but can exit buildings as needed. Employees that need access to the facilities must enter through the Emergency Department entrance for Blessing Hospital and Blessing Health Center. If anyone needs emergency medical help, go to Blessing's Emergency Department.

Blessing says that both employees and patients will have belongings searched during the lock-down.
