Crews will collect totes from those not enrolled in new voluntary program

The City of Quincy says that starting Monday, it will start collecting totes from those who aren't taking part in the new recycling program.

The Mayor's office said Thursday that residents who haven't opted in to the voluntary Recycling program by signing up and putting a city-issued sticker on their tote can have it collected by City Crews, starting Monday. The crews will collect the totes on customers' regular garbage and recycling pick up days. They add that anyone who doesn't have a sticker yet, but wants one can get one at City Hall Monday through Friday from 8 A.M. to 4:30 P.M. The City’s new opt-in recycling program began May 1st. Customers taking part are being billed $5 a month for one recycle tote.

The city says that additional totes cost $7 each.
