1 per cent annual raise for 3 years, starting in 2017
The City of Quincy's Finance Committee has recommended salary hikes for two city officials.
The Committee held a joint meeting with the City's Personnel Committee Monday night, and both committees recommended the full City Council pass a proposed ordinance that would give raises to both the City Clerk and City Treasurer, starting next fiscal year. Each would get a one per cent raise each year for the next three fiscal years. Current Clerk Jenny Hayden and current clerk Peggy Crim would also get a two per cent raise in the current fiscal year.
The two committees also decided to hold off on what to do with an estimated $175,000 surplus in the city's self-funded insurance plan. Mayor Kyle Moore proposes to rebate the money back to city employees. The committee decided to re-visit the issue near the end of the year.
