Tracey Ray will go on trial starting November 29 in Boone County

Former Center, Missouri clerk Tracey Ray, who will be sentenced next month on Federal charges for allegedly stealing over 300 thousand dollars from the city, will go on trial this fall on separate charges.

Tracey Ray is due to go on trial November 29th in Boone County Circuit Court. Records show that date was set Monday. The case is being heard in Boone County on a change of venue. Ray faces two counts each of 1st Degree Assault and Armed Criminal Action in the July 2nd, 2019 shooting that slightly wounded former Ralls County Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie and former Chief Deputy Ronald Haught. Ray's pleaded Not Guilty to those charges. She's also due to be sentenced August 17th, after pleading Guilty in June to Federal counts of wire fraud and federal program theft. Prosecutors plan to drop two other counts of wire fraud. Ray admitted she stole just over 317 thousand dollars from the city of Center between January 2015 and early July 2019. The Government had said Ray used 206 thousand dollars in city money to pay charges on her personal credit card. She was also accused of using over 62 thousand dollars in city money to pay for her family's health insurance, life and disability policies.

Ray remains free on a recognizance bond.
