Jacob Hester of Carthage already being held on meth charges

Hancock County authorities have revealed more information about a Monday night incident where one man was stabbed, and another was treated for knife wounds.

The Hancock County Sheriff's Office Friday revealed the identities of those involved in the incident near Pontoosuc. They include 34-year old Jacob Hester of Carthage, and 43-year old Daniel Jackson of Pontoosuc. Hester is being held in the Hancock County Jail after his arrest Tuesday on two counts of Meth Distribution. He was picked up after being treated at Memorial Hospital in Carthage for knife wounds. Sheriff Scott Bentzinger said earlier this week that Jackson was stabbed once in the chest, and taken to Ft. Madison Community Hospital. The two men had been in a vehicle on a county road near the Illinois 9 and 96 junction when the argument started. On Friday, Bentzinger gave no other information about the case, including why the men started fighting.

Hester's in the Hancock County Jail on 50 thousand dollars' bond.
