Lamarr Minor sentenced to 15-year prison term

A Hannibal man, charged in connection with an early-January shooting that put another man in the hospital, has pleaded Guilty and been sentenced to prison.

Lamarr Minor entered a Guilty plea Tuesday at his arraignment in Marion County Circuit Court. Court records show he pleaded Guilty to counts of Armed Criminal Action, 2nd Degree Assault and Unlawful Possession of a Weapon. As part of a settlement with prosecutors, a fourth count of Unlawful Use of a Weapon was dropped. After the plea, Minor was then sentenced to five years on each count, for a total of 15 years in prison. Minor admitted to shooting a Hannibal man in early January at Maple and Church Streets. That unidentified man had been shot in the upper torso. The man was first taken to Hannibal Regional Hospital, then transferred to Blessing Hospital.

Minor was found nearby, and so was the gun used in the shooting.
