Lisa Peck will take over for Jeff LaGarce; first day is June 24

Hannibal has named a new City Manager.

The city Wednesday named Lisa Peck to be the new City Manager, effective June 24th. A statement says that the announcement follows an intensive executive search by a head-hunting firm hired by the city. Peck comes to Hannibal from suburban Fenton, Missouri, where she served as City Manager for just under a year. Before that, she had worked at various jobs for the city of Highland, Illinois for nearly four years. In its' announcement, the city says that Peck has experience in community grant-writing, developing short-term and long-term plans for municipalities, and directing city staff to achieve set goals. Peck takes over for long-time City Manager Jeff LaGarce, who left in March after serving for 12 years.

Hannibal Mayor Jim Hark is quoted as saying that Peck's experience in city management and economic development was a big attraction to city leaders. Hark added that he feels Peck will "lead the City of Hannibal into the future that is in line with our financial and economic development goals.”
