Sale to LaClare Family Creamery of Malone WI finished in "next several weeks"

A Knox County business will soon be taken over by a Wisconsin company.

Heartland Creamery of Novelty announced Friday that the sale of the business to LaClare Family Creamery of Malone, Wisconsin is set to be completed in the next several weeks. That news comes after Sharpe Holdings sold the assets of Heartland Dairy to LaBelle Dairy of LaBelle, Missouri ealier this year. In a statement, Dave Melton, Vice President of Sharpe Holdings said that quote, "While our business emphasis has changed, our commitment to ministry has not". He added that Sharpe Holdings will continue with its crop operations, a non-dairy related cattle business and service industries serving Heartland and its surrounding communities. Heartland Creamery was founded in 2005 by Northeast Missouri native Charlie Sharpe, who passed away earlier this year.

Terms of the sale were undisclosed.
