Accused of hitting girlfriend with a hand gun Dec. 23

A Quincy man, facing seven counts after a late December incident where a woman sought help at a Quincy fire station, has pleaded Not Guilty and will go on trial in March.

34-year old Deandre Hobson was in Adams County Circuit Court Friday, where probable cause was found against him at a preliminary hearing. After that, he then pleaded Not Guilty to charges of Armed Violence, three counts of Domestic Battery, including two counts of Aggravated Domestic Battery and two counts of a felon possessing a weapon. Hobson's accused of hitting his girlfriend with a hand gun December 23rd after leaving a nightclub in the 900 block of Hampshire. He's alleged to have kept hitting her while they traveled to her home in the 1100 block of Adams. She escaped to the nearby Fire House number 5 early Christmas Eve, and was treated for moderate injuries. In a report, police say they later searched the home on Adams, where they found Hobson, the gun and ammunition.

Hobson's in the Adams County Jail on $250,000 bond. He'll go on trial March 12th on those charges, as well as for an Aggravated Domestic Battery charge from March 2017.
