Hutton pleads Not Guilty to meth trafficking charges

Set to go on trial August 13

A Hannibal man, indicted on meth trafficking and other charges after his arrest in Quincy last month, has pleaded Not Guilty and will go on trial in August.

Anthony Hutton entered that plea Wednesday at his arraignment in Adams County Circuit Court, where an August 13th trial date was set. Both he and a co-defendant, Darlene Elles of Benton City, were indicted last month on counts of Meth Trafficking, Meth Delivery of 100 to 400 grams and two counts of possession of a controlled substance. Elles will be in court next week. Prosecutors say the pair were arrested after their vehicle was stopped for a traffic violation in the 900 block of Jefferson. Both Elles and Hutton allegedly had over 50 grams of meth ICE and numerous Oxycodone pills.

Both are in the Adams County Jail – Elles on $150,000 bond, and Hutton on $100,000 bond. Hutton will be next be in court July 18th.
