Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie says former Center, MO clerk Tracey Ray was shot by deputies July 2
Ralls County authorities are now saying that it was former Center, Missouri City Clerk Tracey Ray that was wounded last week in an officer-involved shooting outside New London.
That shooting happened the night of July 2nd near Spencer Creek, after Ray allegedly confronted Ralls County Sheriff's personnel with a firearm. Sheriff Gerry Dinwiddie confirms that he and a deputy were both slightly injured in the incident. Dinwiddie says he was hit in the face by a ricocheting bullet, and needed four stitches. A deputy was hit by flying debris. Ray was flown to a St. Louis hospital for her injuries. Dinwiddie and the deputy were treated at Hannibal Regional Hospital.
Court records show that so far, no charges have been filed in the incident.
