$125,000 from sale will go into scholarship fund

John Wood Community College says it's agreed to sell a building in Quincy's District.

John Wood Community College's Board of Trustees Wednesday night authorized the sale of the Kinscherff Center to Tuley Properties. They're paying just over $125,000 for the building at 122 North 5th Street on the Square. The building was formally known as the Kinscherff Adult Education and Learning Center. JWCC's GED, English as a Second Language, Adult Education and Retired and Senior Volunteer programs were all based there from 2009 to 2017. Those programs are now headquartered at JWCC’s Quincy campus at 48th and Harrison.

A statement says that the 125 thousand dollars from the sale will be put into an endowed scholarship fund with the JWCC Foundation in honor of the Kinscherff family, who donated the building to JWCC in 2008.
