Total levy will be $7,159,000, a $282,000 increase
The John Wood Community College Board of Trustees has voted to keep the College’s 2018 tax rate the same as 2017.
JWCC’s 2018 aggregate tax rate voted on by the board during the meeting is 36 point 682 cents per $100 of Equalized Assessed Valuation of property in the College’s district. That excludes debt service. A debt service component, approved in prior years when the debt was acquired, is combined with the aggregate rate. so the total rate for 2018 will be 42 point 4, which is the same rate as last year.
Due to increases in some property values, the 2018 rate is estimated to result in a $7,159,232 levy, which is nearly $282 thousand more than 2017.
An owner of a home valued at $100,000 should expect to pay about $116.83 which is the same as last year
