Organizers blame pandemic
Another large summer event has been canceled, this time in Quincy.
The Quincy Knights of Columbus said Tuesday that because of the coronavirus pandemic, they are canceling this year's Bar-B-Que. A statement from the organization says that it would have been difficult for them to enforce social distancing requirements. They were also concerned about the safety of the numerous workers needed to stage the Bar-B-Que, and noted that there would not have been carnival rides, due to other cancelations. It's the first time that the event has been canceled since 1961.
K of C Council Grand Knight John Benz says that next year's Bar-B-Que will be bigger and better than ever.
