Robert Missen to go on trial next Monday

Jury selection will now start next week in the trial of an Alexandria, Missouri man, who's pleaded Not Guilty to Kidnapping and other charges after a New Year's Eve incident in Quincy.

Robert Missen was due to be in Adams County Circuit Court for the start of his trial. Records show that an order delayed the trial to next Monday. Missen's charged with a Class X count of Aggravated Kidnapping, along with counts of Kidnapping, Aggravated Battery and Unlawful Restraint. Prosecutors say the incident happened the morning of New Year's Eve. They say that Missen and another man forced a third man into the trunk of a car on Quincy's north side. They're also alleged to have both hit the victim with a tire iron, breaking a vertebrae in the man's back. The man, after escaping from the vehicle at 3rd and Broadway, was later taken to Blessing Hospital with serious injuries. Missen was arrested New Year's Day in Missouri.

He's been held in the Adams County Jail on $350,000 bond since his arrest.
