Cool temperatures and dry weather were prevalent again across the state last week. Statewide, the temperature averaged 42.6 degrees, 3.0 degrees below normal. Precipitation averaged 0.26 inches statewide, 0.49 inches below normal. There were 5.4 days suitable for fieldwork for the week ending Sunday. Topsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 19 percent short, 72 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated 5 percent very short, 23 percent short, 70 percent adequate, and 2 percent surplus.

Corn harvested for grain was 92 percent complete, compared to 96 percent for the 5-year average.

Soybean harvest was 86 percent complete, up 9 percentage points from last week.

Cotton harvest was 92 percent complete, compared to 83 percent for the 5-yer average.

Sorghum harvest was 90 percent complete.

Winter wheat planted reached 83 percent, up 14 percentage points from last week. Winter wheat emerged reached 63 percent. Winter Wheat condition was rated 5 percent poor, 38 percent fair, 49 percent good, and 8 percent excellent.

Pasture and range condition was rated 4 percent very poor, 11 percent poor, 47 percent fair, 36 percent good, and 2 percent excellent.
