normal. Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 3 percent very short, 19 percent short, 71 percent adequate, and 7 percent surplus. Subsoil
moisture supply was rated at 2 percent very short, 18 percent short, 76 percent adequate, and 4 percent surplus. Corn emerged was at 91
percent, compared with 90 percent for the 5-year average. Corn condition was rated at 1 percent very poor, 2 percent poor, 16 percent fair, 56
percent good, and 25 percent excellent. Soybeans planted was at 94 percent, compared to 82 percent last year and the 5-year average of 77
percent. Soybeans emerged was at 85 percent. Sorghum planted was at 82 percent. Winter wheat headed reached 98 percent, compared to
100 percent last year and the 5-year average of 95 percent. Winter wheat condition was rated at 5 percent very poor, 8 percent poor, 25
percent fair, 50 percent good, and 12 percent excellent.
