New IHOP in Quincy Mall by years' end

New IHOP in Quincy Mall by years' end

6 years, 7 months ago by Scott Hardy

Restaurant will open in former TGI Fridays building

The former TGI Friday's in the Quincy Mall will house a new restaurant by the end of the year.

IHOP is officially coming to Quincy, according to franchisee Larry McDonald. News of the opening was first revealed over the weekend, and confirmed Monday. McDonald owns several IHOP's, including two in Springfield, and says he's very excited about coming to Quincy. McDonald has met with contractors and architects, and plans to use the existing structure. Quincy Mayor Kyle Moore thinks that the city's commitment to the Mall's success helped attract the new restaurant.

McDonald plans to open the 24-hour IHOP in early December, depending on how long it takes to get all the proper city permits. Job interviews at IHOP will likely start in November.
