Message sent to parents Wednesday morning

Hannibal school officials say there was no violent incident at Hannibal High School Wednesday morning, nor was there a lock-down.

That's what Hannibal Public School District Superintendent Susan Johnson told high school parents Wednesday morning. Johnson says that a “precautionary” investigation by the District and Hannibal police found there was no credible threat. Johnson says the investigation stemmed from a student report Wednesday morning, and that it may have been a misunderstanding.

She's referring to the February 14th shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School. Johnson says the HPD will continue to investigate the source of the report, and the School District will continue to encourage students talk to an adult if they see or hear something that concerns them.
