Medical emergency said to have caused accident at building on Gardner Expressway

Adams County authorities say that one person is dead, after suffering a medical emergency Friday night that led to their semi crashing into a Quincy business.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office has confirmed that the person died at Blessing Hospital after the accident, but haven't revealed their identity. They say the accident happened around 6:20 PM at SEM Minerals on Gardner Expressway. A report says that the driver of the semi suffered what they called a medical emergency while behind the wheel. Their rig was in the loading ramp area, and the incident caused the tractor trailer to hit a building on the property. The Sheriff's Department described the accident as low-impact, with minor damage to both the building and the rig.

Authorities say that the driver's identity is being withheld pending notification of family.
