Loren Graham running in 2018 MO 5th District race
The mayor of Palmyra has announced he'll be running for the Missouri House next year.
Mayor Loren Graham tells the Missouri Times he'll be running for the 5th District House seat in 2018. That seat is currently held by Representative Lindell Shumake, who's facing term limits at the end of 2018. Shumake has announced plans to run for the Missouri State Senate. Graham, a Republican, has been mayor of Palmyra for 12 years, and won re-election earlier this year. Graham says he wants to foster a better economic climate in Missouri, especially in the 5th District.
Graham's likely challenger is Hannibal-LaGrange University English professor Louis Riggs.
