Michael Black faces 1st Degree Murder charge

A probable cause statement in the case of a Bowling Green man, accused of shooting and killing his step-son late Friday night, says that after the shooting Michael Allen Black made himself a drink, and smoked a cigarette.

Pike County authorities released the statement Monday in the shooting death of 31 year old Alexander Koch. Black's been formally charged in Pike County, Missouri Circuit Court with one count each of 1st Degree Murder and armed criminal action in the shooting. According to authorities, the shooting happened during a conversation Black was having with Koch outside the home they shared on Route Y, in rural Bowling Green. In the statement, the shooting happened after Black and Koch had a physical altercation inside the home. Black allegedly told arresting officers he was tired of being beaten by Koch, and admitting shooting him. Black allegedly shot Koch in the abdomen as the men talked after the fight. Koch died about an hour later at a Louisiana hospital.

Black is in the Pike County, Missouri Jail on $1 million cash-only bond. A court date has not yet been set.
