Possible Threat at Highland High School

5 years, 1 month ago by Jim Dewey

Parents of Lewis County C-1 School were concerned Thursday night after receiving a late night phone call.

According to the School District's Facebook page:

Lewis County C-1 did send out a phone message at approximately 10:30 Thursday night to "advise parents that after concluding the Board of Education meeting it was brought to the administration's attention that there was a rumor circulating about a possible school violence threat for tomorrow (Friday) at the high school."

The message noted that the administration and law enforcement are fully aware of an incident that occurred Thursday at the high school and what was actually said. While the administration and law enforcement do not believe there to be any credible threats, the Facebook message let parents know that necessary precautions were put in place to assure the safety of all staff and students.

Today (Friday) had been a scheduled day off for students - but is now being used as a make up for snow days.
