Bowling Green man charged with Murder in August 2017 shooting of step-son

Probable cause has been found against a Bowling Green man, accused of shooting and killing his step-son last summer.

That ruling against Michael Allen Black came Tuesday at his preliminary hearing in Pike County, Missouri Associate Court. Black faces counts of 1st Degree Murder and armed criminal action in the August 18th shooting death of 31 year old Alexander Koch. According to authorities, the shooting happened while the two were talking outside their rural Bowling Green home. Earlier that night, Black and Koch had a physical altercation, and Black allegedly told arresting officers he was tired of being beaten by Koch, and admitting shooting him once in the abdomen. Koch died about an hour later at a Louisiana hospital.

Black’s free on $500,000 bond, and will be arraigned June 11th.
