Amy Allen could enter a plea November 5

Probable cause has been found against a former Hannibal Middle School employee, charged with allegedly having inappropriate contact with a student.

That ruling against Amy Jo Allen came Monday during a preliminary hearing in Marion County Associate Court. Records show she earlier waived the hearing. Allen is charged with 2nd Degree Statutory Sodomy, Child Molestation and Sexual Contact with a student. Prosecutors say that the incidents happened earlier this year. Police say the investigation started May 26th, when the Hannibal School District told police about the alleged contact between Allen, who was a para-professional, and the student. Hannibal School Superintendent Susan Johnson says that Allen was fired June 2nd, after being put on leave when the District learned about the allegation on the 26th.

Allen is free on a recognizance bond, but is under house arrest. She could enter a plea November 5th.
