Michael Dade named to replace his brother Demond Dade

A Quincy firefighter has been named to the same job previously held by his brother.

Fire Chief Joe Henning Monday announced that the City of Quincy's Board of Police and Fire Commissioners promoted firefighter Michael Dade to the position of Deputy Chief of Administration. New Deputy Chief Dade fills the vacancy created when his brother, Deputy Chief Demond Dade, took another position with the City of Urbana. Michael Dade has been with the Quincy Fire Department for 18 years. He's served as a shift training coordinator, public education officer and Explorer Post advisor. He's also a paramedic and serves on the Department’s Technical Rescue Team.

Deputy Chief Dade was presented his badge during a short presentation prior to Monday night’s Quincy City Council meeting.
