Appeared on News Round Table Wednesday

Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner wants the General Assembly to send him a bill that would fund the state's primary schools, so he can veto part of it. Scott Hardy has more.

Rauner, appearing Wednesday on WTAD's News Round Table, urged lawmakers to send him Senate Bill 1, which would change how the state's public schools are funded. The bill is currently held up by the Senate, and Rauner has threatened to issue an amendatory veto. He says he'd remove some $145 million earmarked for the Chicago Public Schools, and instead increase funding levels for the rest of the state's K - 12 schools. Rauner said he knows the House and Senate Democrats' plan for the bill over the summer.
