Body of Tyler Harris, 31, of Carthage found Monday night near Meyer
The body of a Carthage man, missing since a boating accident Friday near Lock and Dam 19 in Keokuk, has been found.
Adams County Coroner Jim Keller says the body of Tyler Harris was recovered from the Mississippi River Monday night by the Quincy Emergency Corps in the area of Long Island, near Meyer. Keller says he pronounced Harris dead just after 8 PM, and that an autopsy will be conducted later Tuesday. Harris and 31 year old James Son of Carthage were fishing near the Dam Friday afternoon when their anchor failed. Son was later rescued at the capsized boat by Keokuk firefighters.
According to Keller, the investigation into Harris's death will be conducted by his office and the Illinois Conservation Police.
