City to finish work on Maine from 24th to 30th Streets
The City of Quincy says it will re-start work on part of Maine Street Monday, causing it to be closed.
The City's Engineering Department says that starting Monday, Maine Street will be closed from 27th to 30th Streets. That's so crews can finish repaving the street, and installing new curbs, gutters and sidewalks. Work was done last year on repairing the water main under the street. Drivers are asked to avoid that section of Maine Street, and to use other roads like North 27th, or Hampshire.
City Engineer Jeff Conte says that work on Maine Street from 24th to 27th Streets will start once school closes in June.
