Corey Cobb arrested Wednesday night
A St. Louis man is in custody, accused of stealing a handgun Wednesday night in Hannibal.
Hannibal police identify the man as 25-year old Corey Cobb, and say they were called just before 11:30 PM to Gordon Street and Richmond..A report says that when officers arrived, an unidentified man told them he had been assaulted by Cobb, and that his handgun had been stolen during the assault. Police say that Cobb was still in the area when they arrived, and was arrested without incident. The unidentified man suffered only minor injuries, and didn't need further treatment. Police say they found the gun hidden in a yard, and seized it as evidence.
Cobb is in the Marion County Jail awaiting formal charges to be filed.
