Two charged with giving kids meth, disfiguring a disabled child

Zechariah Wigfell, 36, and Stephanie Hendricks, 32 both in Adams County Jail

Two Quincy residents have been arrested, and are suspected of giving meth to children, and permanently disfiguring one of them.

The Adams County Sheriff's Office identifies them as 36-year old Zechariah Wigfall, and 40-year old Stephanie Hendricks. Sheriff Rich Wagner says that they got a tip in August from the Department of Child Family Services about child abuse and neglect. Interviews found what Wagner called "severe physical abuse and prolonged exposure to drug use." Wagner says that further investigation found evidence of one of the children, who is disabled, was permanently disfigured from the abuse. Wagner also says that the kids were given meth. Hendricks was arrested in late September, and is charged with one count of Aggravated Meth Delivery to a person under 18. She was in court Tuesday, and will go on trial in December. Wigfall was arrested Tuesday at a home in the 400 block of College on two counts of Aggravated Battery and one count of Aggravated Domestic Battery. One of the Aggravated Battery counts is a Class X felony. Both were indicted last week by an Adams County Grand Jury.

Hendricks is in the Adams County Jail on $50,000 bond. Wigfall is also in the Adams County Jail, and was in court Wednesday morning. He'll be back in court October 26th.
