Rates also down in NE MO, SE Iowa
The unemployment rate in Quincy and Adams County fell in April, according to stats released Thursday by the Illinois Department of Employment Security.
Those figures show that Quincy's unemployment rate fell .3% in April to 3.8%, and in Adams County, it fell .4% to 3.5%. Rates fell in all Western Illinois counties, with .9% drops reported in both Hancock and McDonough Counties. It was the same story in Hannibal and Marion County, with the rate in Hannibal falling by .5% to 3.6%, and by .4% in Marion County, to 3.8%. Rates in other Northeast Missouri counties also dropped in April, with the largest decrease in Monroe County, down a full percentage point.
The unemployment rate also fell in Lee County, Iowa by .2%, to 4.7%.
