55 students set to graduate before closing

A St. Louis-based trade school says it will close its' Quincy location this fall.

Vatterott College announced Thursday that it will close its' campus on North 36th Street this October. In a statement, Vatterott says the closure won't affect the 55 students currently on campus, who will graduate before the school closes. The closure comes a week after Vatterott announced it was being acquired by Birmingham, Alabama-based Educational Centers of America. The school's parent company filed for receivership last June. Vatterott has nearly 20 full and part-time employees, and there's no word in the announcement on their job status. A Vatterott representative says that after the Quincy campus closes, all student records will be transferred to a secure location at Vatterott's St. Louis headquarters, and can be requested through the College’s administrative headquarters.

Vatterott's take-over should be completed early this year.
