IDPH and IDVA reconciled case numbers; 1 employee tests positive

The Illinois Veterans Home in Quincy says there's been an increase in the number of residents who've died of COVID-19.

Vets Home Administrator Troy Culbertson, in a Friday letter to residents and their families, says that 27 residents have now died of the virus. The letter says that since late March, the Illinois Department of Public Health has reconciled their preliminary cases against cases reported by the Illinois Department of Veterans Affairs. Culbertson said that there was a discrepancy of seven cases, and that five of the cases were not related to the virus, while two cases were. He says that means that since late March, no other residents who've tested positive have died since late March. A separate letter on Monday said that another Vets Home employee has tested positive since Friday. No residents have tested positive since late March.

A total of 305 residents and staff have tested positive for COVID-19 since the start of the pandemic.
