Accused of incident that caused lock-down of Culver-Stockton College last November
A St. Louis man has pleaded Guilty to a charge, connected to an incident last November, that caused Culver-Stockton College to go on lock-down for several hours.
Court records show that Austin Webber pleaded Guilty Friday to one count of Felonious Restraint at a hearing in Lewis County Circuit court, as part of a plea deal. In return, prosecutors dropped charges of 1st Degree Attempted Robbery, Armed Criminal Action and Unlawful Use of a Weapon. That deal was reached a week before his trial was set to start. The charges stem from an incident in late November, where prosecutors had alleged that Webber tried to rob a fellow Culver student outside the Joe Charles Field House, and pointed a gun at him during the attempt. Court documents say Webber also allegedly told the student to get on the ground, and threatened to shoot him.
Webber's free on a recognizance bond, and will be sentenced July 31st.
